Grace Academy Christmas Program

Starring the one and only Rey!
(as always, click to enlarge photos)

It was a Friday night, a week before Christmas. For weeks we had been hearing snatches of Christmas songs, and we knew that a big program was planned. Soon a huge crowd of parents, grandparents, friends and siblings had gethered, all sitting on tiny chairs. The anticipation was palpable as the well prepared room was subjected to close study by all.

First Ms. Merria, the director of the school came out to say a few words.

And then the kids began filing in:

Then they were all in, with the star front and center:

and they began to sing...

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

And "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth"...

And then it was time for Rey's solo. He sang the first two verses of Frosty the Snowman before the rest of the kids joined in for the big finish...

There were a few other solos, but Rey was the youngest to sing a solo, and, in my completely unbiased opinion, the best.

Then it was time for speeches. Well, our boy was also the youngest to give a speech, and he stood up all by himself in front of more than 40 people to give it...

There were more speeches, and then, a dance!

Rey was awesome!

Then in came Santa. All the kids came in and sat on Santa's lap (with a couple notable exceptions) and told him what they wanted for Christmas.

Rey said "One more Batman!"

Afterwards, Rey was still pretty excited...

And cute...

And then we ate, and went home. Rey wanted to open the secret Santa present he got, and we let him. A drawing board! Our sleepy excited boy got a few minutes to wind down before bed...

And that's all she wrote!
